Our annual Christmas Concert will be Sunday, December 8, 2019 at the Branscomb Auditorium at Florida Southern College. Doors open at 1:15, pre-show at 1:45, and the band concert begins at 2:30. The concert and parking are free and no tickets are needed.

The Season Finale concert of our 40th anniversary season will be presented on Sunday, March 31 at the Branscomb Auditorium at Florida Southern College. Doors open at 1:15, pre-show at 1:45 and the band concert begins at 2:30. The concert (and parking!) are free, and no tickets are needed.

We’ll wake you up with the “1812 Overture” (cannons, anyone?) and soothe you with Ravel’s “Pavane.” We’ll have marches and Dixieland, songs from The Carpenters and The Beach Boys, and the hits will just keep on coming.

The pre-show features Lakeland vocalist The Fabulous Lady Z. And in the lobby before the concert, enjoy selections by our new flute ensemble, featuring players from our flute section.

Our St. Patrick’s Day concert will be presented on Sunday, March 10 at the Branscomb Auditorium at Florida Southern College. Doors open at 1:15, pre-show at 1:45 and the band concert begins at 2:30. The concert (and parking!) are free, and no tickets are needed.

We’ll have some Irish music (of course), along with music from “Cabaret” and songs from “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.” You’ll get a chance to sing along with an old Irish favorite. And we’ll feature our tuba section in a special march and our trombone section in a lyrical trio.

The pre-show will present the vocal group The NYCE Guys. And in the lobby before the show, enjoy the Licorice Sticks, featuring our clarinet section.

Our concert is dedicated to the memory of Ron Walker, who played with the Band and the Music Ambassadors.

Our next concert will be presented Sunday, February 3 at the Branscomb Auditorium at Florida Southern College. Doors open at 1:15, pre-show at 1:45, and the band concert begins at 2:30. The concert (and parking) are free, and no tickets are needed.

The concert will feature romantic songs for Valentine’s Day, including songs from Burt Bacharach and Tony Bennett, Broadway hits and beguine arrangements. We’ll also have themes from the original Mary Poppins movie, a Chuck Mangione favorite, and so much more.

In the lobby before the show, enjoy The Licorice Sticks, featuring our clarinet section. The pre-show will feature the return of singer Ken Brady. Ken was lead singer for The Casinos, a doo-wop group from Cincinnati. Their hit single “Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye” reached #6 in the Top 40. Ken performs in the central Florida area and nationwide.

Our Winter Concert features well-known popular songs from the 40s to the 70s, themes from “Rocky” and “The Lone Ranger,” big band favorites, Latin rhythms, a Leroy Anderson waltz, and a very famous song from “Sesame Street.”

The pre-show presents our very own Music Ambassadors dance band, with a preview of their public dance Friday, January 18 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lakeland.

The Christmas Concert will feature music from “The Nutcracker,” favorite Christmas carols,  Rudolph and Santa, sleigh bells and jingle bells, and a carol from Mannheim Steamroller. We will be joined by not one, but two wonderful vocalists — Ken Brady and Rebecca Renfroe.

Plus a chance for your kids and grandkids to join us on stage to conduct the band!

Before the concert, enjoy the Licorice Sticks in the lobby, featuring the Band’s clarinet section.

The pre-show will feature Slide Dish, a group of local trombone players who will serve up savory holiday treats. Sing along with your favorite carols and pop songs.

We kick off our 40th anniversary season with a Patriotic Arts Spectacular. Our annual Salute to Veterans concert will be Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the Youkey Theatre in the RP Funding Center. Doors open at 1:15, pre-show at 1:45, and the band concert begins at 2:30. The concert is free and no tickets are needed. The Center has a parking fee, but for this concert, all veterans and military personnel can park for free with a military ID.

The Band will be joined by the Lakeland Choral Society, directed by Beth Cummings, for a rousing concert of patriotic music — songs from Irving Berlin and George M. Cohan, marches by Sousa, American folk songs, and so much more. We will honor the service of our vets by presenting the flags from the military services of the United States and Canada.

The festivities begin in the lobby before the concert. Local artists will exhibit their works for your enjoyment — paintings, photography, woodcarving, and more. You’ll be welcomed by patriotic music from the Licorice Sticks, featuring the Band’s clarinet section.

The pre-show features the Clogging Connection, a Plant City-based dance team that has appeared in local and regional competitions since the 1980s.

Instrumental music, singing, visual arts, dancing! It will truly be an afternoon of Arts and Fun!

Our concert will feature a trumpet trio playing the ever-popular “Bugler’s Holiday,” an arrangement of “Sing, Sing, Sing” (listen for the Gene Krupa-style drums!), and songs made famous by Judy Garland and Frank Sinatra. The highlight of the show will be the world premiere of a new adaptation of “Scheherazade,” arranged by band member Garnet Hicks.
